Florence Airport to Cortona by Train & Bus

Here are detailed directions for getting from the Florence Peretola (FLR) airport to Cortona's historic city center by public train and bus.

1st Leg: Florence (FLR) Airport to Santa Maria Novella Station by Tram

The T2 Vespucci tram takes you from the Florence Peretola Airport (FLR) to the Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Get off at the Alamanni/Stazione stop. 

The tram runs from 5AM-12:30AM Sunday – Thursday, and from 5AM-2AM on Fridays and Saturdays. 

Travel Time: 20 minutes

Cost: 1.50€ per ticket

2nd Leg: Santa Maria Novella to Camucia-Cortona by Train

Purchase a ticket from Firenze Santa Maria Novella to Camucia-Cortona station.  Trains run about every 30 minutes from about 9AM to 9PM.

Travel Time: 1 hours 20 minutes

Cost: 12 - 25€ per person

3rd Leg: Camucia Train Station to Cortona by Bus

A small bus runs between the Camucia-Cortona train station and Piazza Garibaldi in Cortona about every 30 minutes from 7:30AM to 9PM.  

Purchase a bus ticket from the coffee shop (located on your right as you exit the train station) for 1€, or from the bus driver when you board for 1.50€.

Travel Time: 10 - 15 minutes

Cost: 1 – 1.50€ per person
