Rome FCO Airport to Cortona by Train & Bus

Here are detailed directions for getting from the Roma-Fiumicino (FCO) airport to Cortona's historic city center by public train and bus.

1st Leg: Rome FCO Airport to Roma-Termini by Train

The Leonardo Express takes you from the Roma-Fiumicino Airport (FCO) to Roma-Termini. The train runs every 15-30. 

Travel Time: 30 minutes

Cost: 14€ per adult (discounts for children)

2nd Leg: Roma-Termini to Camucia-Cortona by Train

Purchase a ticket from Roma-Termini to Camucia-Cortona station.  Trains run about every hour from about 9AM to 9PM.

Travel Time: 2 hours 15 minutes

Cost: 12 - 25€ per person

3rd Leg: Camucia Train Station to Cortona by Bus

A small bus runs between the Camucia-Cortona train station and Piazza Garibaldi in Cortona about every 30 minutes from 7:30AM to 9PM.  Not available on Sundays or holidays.

Purchase a bus ticket from the coffee shop (located on your right as you exit the train station) for 1€, or from the bus driver when you board for 1.50€.

Travel Time: 10 - 15 minutes

Cost: 1 – 1.50€ per person
